How To Change Your Life & Make It Stick With These Top Tips

#1 Stop Saying You Are Sorry

How many times in a day do you find yourself apologizing??

Sorry I’m late, sorry for offloading on you, sorry for the long message, sorry I have to cancel, sorry I snapped, sorry sorry sorry.

Working on this with my Shine Squad group as I often see the line ‘sorry for the long post’ and as I tell them you don’t have to apologise for offloading. It’s why I created this space, a place where you can come and feel heard and get supported with your life challenges.

Now don’t get me wrong there will be times in your life, especially if you have really done something wrong that warrants an apology. 

BUT most of the time it simply doesn’t. Saying sorry all of the time is tearing down your confidence by feeling the need to be apologetic for who you are, it’s shaming on yourself and also needing the approval from others and it’s damaging your self confidence.

If you want to create real change in your life you get to stop apologising for being you. Stand in your confidence and knowing who you are and being proud of that.

This doesn’t mean you have to be a dick, but it’s more about shifting your wording.

So instead of saying sorry I’m late, turn that into saying thank you for waiting for me.

In the Shine Squad the guys have been shifting to saying, thank you for reading my post.

It has a completely different energy around it, more confidence and vibrance, less shame and guilt. Because it’s the shame and guilt cycle that is keeping you in a space of low self worth. If you have low self worth, it’s very hard to convince yourself that you are worthy of going after your dreams.

#2 Build Tiny Habits

All of your big life changes start with the smallest of steps and you focusing on only the big things is exactly what is keeping you stuck in procrastination and overwhelm.

Break it down into small action steps and start working on developing these small steps into daily habits. One little action step at a time.

#3 Stay In Your Own Lane

Keep your focus on what YOU are doing, what YOU want to achieve and stop giving a fuck about what other people think of you or comparing yourself to others. They are not on your journey and other people’s opinions of you is actually none of your business.

How much time do you spend stressing about what other people think of you?? Could that time be better spent on actually moving forwards on your own dreams and goals?

People will judge you regardless, so stop worrying about it and just get on with the things that make YOU happy. 

Whilst you are at it also stop spending so much time in other people’s business especially if you are judging them and their life decisions. In the world of internet trolls who are just judgemental and very sad people in my opinion, what if you too could judge others less? You never know what other people are going through so just be kinder, spread a little more love. And as Brendon Burchard says, ‘Judge Less, Feel Better’ Never a truer statement, right?

#4 – Time and Energy Management

This is about managing the time that you do have. Not to fill it up with being ‘busier’ but being more efficient and then creating more free time for yourself to include more of the things in your life that bring about freedom and fun.

And not just your time, but also your energy. Getting up and facing your day with an energy of ‘i’ve got this shit’ is a massive game changer to how your day will actually pan out.

#5 – Turn Your Cants Into Must’s

If you really want to change something in your life you have to shift the intention behind that. From ‘oh it would be quite nice to have that thing’, to a right fuck this shit ‘I simply must have this, my life and my happiness is kinda depending on it’ Make it a priority, pile on more meaning, more of an emotional connection to having that thing. For that is when you will start to see the changes and make them last.

I know I got a little sweary on this post, but that’s me, I like to swear and I get passionate about this shit, so if that offends you then I’m probably not the coach for you.
