So yes it’s Black Friday and the whole world seems to have gone crazy with the Black Friday deals and I get it, who doesn’t love a bargain? Just remember if you are braving the stores today, don’t lose your head remember to always be a good human being and really, it’s just ‘stuff’, it aint that important.
Saying that I did want to share with you some of the things that I have been enjoying this week.
Shoe Dog – This is the autobiography of the creator of Nike. I am currently listening on Audible and I’m actually only a few hours in. At 13hours long it is a lengthy one but OMG I’m completely hooked. I knew nothing about the creator of Nike (in fact I think few people did) but to listening to his story is incredibly inspiring. If you don’t already have audible because you have been living under a rock you can get a free 30 day trial HERE.
Audible has been a game changer for me as I love to read, but like many of you we are all strapped for time. So audible means I can get inspiration and knowledge into my ear when out walking the dogs, running or just sat in the car. Try it out, I’m sure you will love it as much as I do. And check out Shoe Dog by Philip Knight.
OPUS – This is a new workout being created by Gillian Michael and I added this workout to my YouTube Playlist HERE. I also tested it out (with a few modifications) with my fitcamp crew. It’s a mix of calisthenics and body weight work (all the things I love) so I thoroughly enjoyed this workout. It’s not for beginners, it’s bloody hard and many of the moves are quite advanced but I wanted to share as I loved it so much.
Lean Greens – OK so I know that this is often on the list of my top recommendations but I actually went out last weekend and may well have had a beer or two. As always Lean Greens is the lifesaver when it comes to reducing the negative (by that I mean stopping you from feeling so dog rough) effects of a night on the tiles. Take a glass with 2 x fish oils before going out, again when you get back in before bed (if you can remember to) and then again in the morning. I’m telling ya, it’s the night out lifesaver. Especially if you are anything like me, don’t drink that often and become a very cheap date ha ha. CLICK HERE to check out Lean Greens
Ethical makeup – I am certainly no beauty expert and my make-up routine is pretty basic. It consists of powder foundation, eyebrows on and a touch of mascara and that’s me for the day. I have used the same few items for as long as I can remember (benefit foundation, YSL mascara and a Rimmel eyebrow pencil just in case you were wondering) and I love all of these, it wasn’t that I stopped liking them. I just wanted to choose products that are better for the environment, better for my skin, in that they have no toxins in them, and this particular brand that I have found also gives 20% of their profits to charity. Win, win, win!!
I think choosing ethical brands that are trying to make a difference in the world is something that feels good and right to me. I had actually read a lot of negative reviews on natural mascara’s as they don’t tend to stick all that well but I have to say I am super impressed with this one and it’s even waterproof. I suppose the real test will come in a few weeks when I’m hitting the slopes each day, but hey I’ll get back to you on that one.
So the brand I am talking about is PHB Ethical Beauty. They are a British made family business making hand made products that are not tested on animals and do not contain Palm oil. They have a huge range of products which is great to try things for you and your skin type.
I currently have the waterproof mascara, like I said above, it’s a winner for me. Also the pressed powder mineral foundation. Again I love it and covers just as well as my trusty benefit powder that I have used for many years. I think the products are very well priced too, in fact cheaper than the brands I was using previously.
I purchased this brand from Love Lula, a site that I am sooooo in love with as they have so many gorgeous products (I also love the Balm Balm stuff too) and they do a monthly subscription box which is like getting a little Xmas present each month and the value of the boxes are amazing. Check them out HERE, anyway lets just say I am a fan. Plus they are currently running 15% off for Black Friday
So I hope you enjoy these and let me know what you think.
Happy Black Friday
