On Friday afternoon even though I had a pretty fantastic week.
My Fitcamp guys had got started and have been absolutely amazing, I’m loving working with my new PT clients.
I had enjoyed my workouts, my eating had been good, stress levels were all tickety boo and then, BAM, I got struck with it.
After I started winding down for the day I found myself mindlessly scrolling through social media. Checking out other people’s awesome looking instagram feeds, beautifully crafted websites, amazing content that is being put out to the world. All this amazing inspiration and my energy took a severe dive.
You see I had been struck with a case of comparison-itus!!!
Seeing all these awesome things left me feeling inferior and as though I was not good enough, not doing enough, not being enough.
In all honesty I started to feel like sh!t, I wanted to eat. In fact I did start eating, and eating and nothing was satisfying me I just wanted more. Luckily there was not too much junk in the house and so not that much to go at.
It was a little while, maybe about 40 minutes before I even became conscious of what was actually going on with me.
I noticed my mood and my energy dropped and so I asked myself ‘what just happened?’, ‘why do I feel this way?’
See once you create a conscious awareness of your thoughts feelings and emotions, you identify the trigger. Then you step back in your power to be able to change the stories that you are telling yourself.
So for me to change this, I whipped out my pen and pad and started to get all of this out of my head and down onto paper.
Journaling has been such a transformational process for me. It really is like a little form of therapy that just helps to bring you back to your centre whenever you start to wobble and wave off track.
The purpose of this little story really was to offer some inspiration to you guys to come back to your journaling process.
If you downloaded the ‘Get Your Shit Together’ life planner then come back to it. If you don’t already have a copy then CLICK HERE and get your copy now. I am so passionate about this process, and I really want to share it with the world so I am going to be offering it as a free gift so you can start planning out and getting intentional about the end of the year and into 2018.
As we head into winter I often feel that it’s one of those times that can lead to busyness and overwhelm, so start taking action to remain grounded and focused during this time.
Writing helps to bring you back to you. Back to your purpose, your essence, your passions and your focus and I often feel it’s like giving that big ole hug to yourself.
Because going back to my story, feeling shitty and as though I was not enough leads me to want to eat. No amount of food will ever comfort that ‘feeling’ that you are trying to achieve, and it’s why one piece of chocolate is never enough!!
So when the feelings arise stop searching for the external comfort and instead choose to go inside. Because that is where the real transformation is at.
All that you ever need is already within you.
Have an awesome start to your week.
