It’s only bloody October and we are now into the final quarter of the year.
So if you have been reading my posts for any amount of time, you will know I LOVE goal setting. It’s a big part of what I teach on my coaching programs and why I created the ‘Get Your Shit Together’ Life Planner.
Because while it doesn’t come naturally to me, (I love to just whinging my way through life) BIG changes started to happen when I began writing down my goals and getting a little more serious about achieving them.
Life get’s busy and we get wrapped up in s0 many different things on a daily basis and so creating an effective goal setting process not only allowed me to get some clarity, but also acted like a little pick me up on the days when I wasn’t feeling super motivated.
So as we head into the final quarter of the year it’s perfect time to reflect and re-set your goals and intentions.
Set daily, weekly, monthly and long term goals and don’t be afraid to dream big.
Write those goals down, look at them often. For those of you that have already downloaded your planner, print off your next monthly planner section, and also the 30,60 and 90 day goal planner and start getting excited about what you can achieve in the final part of 2017.
Because you get to remember that your dreams and goals will only start to become reality when you start taking action. That’s why the planner helps you to break down those big goals into smaller actionable steps.
For me personally, I will be completely honest, there are a LOT of goals that I set out to hit at the beginning of the year that have been wayyyyyyy of the mark.
And it’s easy to get down on yourself about that, because it’s all to easy to remind ourselves how rubbish we are when things don’t always go according to plan. I know it’s not just me that does that.
See one of my goals this year was to complete 2 x Spartan Trifecta’s and also an endurance trifecta. And, welllllll that definatly didn’t turn out very well at all.
I ended up getting injured and only completed 1 trifecta and failed to even complete the ultra beast.Boooo Hooo 🙁
Life often shows up and can send you off track with those goals and that can be tough at times. Though equally these obstacles can become some of your greatest lessons if you choose to look at it that way. I reminded myself of this as I thought about heading out for a run today even though I know my ankle is not up to it and would probably make it worse.
I had feelings of letting myself down and not hitting the goals that I set myself. Instead I reminded myself that we must always maintain a level of flexibility in our approach. So while the goal of 2 x trifecta is still there, it will just have to be postponed until next year. Instead I now get to focus on taking better care of my body and direct my attention on what I CAN DO heal and come back stronger.
I just love the energy that goal setting brings me. It get’s me excited and hyped up about the things that are possible.
And for now get working on those goals. I would love to know what you want to achieve before the end of this year.
