What A Weekend

So our first retreat is over and what a weekend it was.

 

It was literally jam packed with all of the things I love.

 

Spending time with awesome like-minded positive women. We shared experiences, tips; tricks even did some networking and generally got a lot from spending time with each other.DSC_0066

Eating clean healthy nutritious foods, we literally ate like the goddesses we are, in no way felt deprived as our Chef Cheryl created some amazing meals that left you asking the question, how can this be healthy?? Especially her clean banoffee pie and chocolate mousse, they were amazeballs. Eating clean does not mean you have to compromise on taste.

 

And yes don’t worry guys, those of you who came will be getting all the recipes soon I promise.

 

The rest of you will have to wait until Cheryl releases her dinner party delights cook book or come on one of her clean cooking classes (details to be released soon)

 

Practicing relaxation and movement through yoga and meditation. We live such fast passed lives, which I do love being a part of, but allowing ourselves the time to just slow down and take time out is how we create balance and actually become able to produce more.

 

How often do you allow that for yourself?? Yoga and meditations have become part of my programs for a reason. Whilst I love to work my body hard, I also value the mind body connection of these practices allowing you to tune in and listen to your body.

For those that are reading from afar I encourage you to source out your local class, or even just get on YouTube and find some video’s to do at home, there are literally tonnes of video’s out there.
Being surrounded by nature is just pure bliss for me and we couldn’t have wished for better with the weather. A beautiful sunny day allowed us a morning yoga and meditation session looking out across the meadows and we then headed off for an 8 mile hike around Ullswater and Patterdale.

As we were walking and chatting away I had to remind myself to look up and soak in the beautiful scenery that we are so blessed to have in this country.

 

Often we moan about the weather here in the UK but just look at those stunning views and all that greenery, and lets face it we need the rain to help create all that amazing green stuff.

 

With all the fresh clear air we had some sleepy bodies come evening time. So after some time to relax, taking the opportunity for a lie down and getting comfy, others went into the in-house sauna, then we got together again for our 3 course evening meal.
Cheryl did a short demonstration to show just how quick and easy is was to create a clean chocolate mousse, it’s so simple even I can do it

Sunday we actually woke up to it snowing outside, freeking snow at the end of April!! It suited us just perfect though as we did our morning yoga and meditation indoors, followed by a full English before heading over to the Spa for the day.

 

This was the perfect opportunity for everyone to do exactly as they pleased.

 

Some of us went in the gym, some opted for a swim and Jacuzzi it was the delightful way to soak and relax the muscles after the walk from the day before.

 

Then it was back to the cottage for afternoon tea, which was, accompanied with clean carrot cakes, mmmmmmm.

 

And then a group coaching session as I took the guys and encouraged them to delve a little deeper into their sabotaging behaviours that surround food and find out exactly, why do we have those food vices that we seem to be completely out of control with.

 

Then for tea and to finish off the day with an evening mediation to help relax the mind and body and prepare for a full and energising nights sleep.

Before we knew it, it was time to get up for the final morning. We started with a morning meditation and set our intentions and positive affirmations for the week ahead.

 

Feeling energised and ready to head back to the real world we enjoyed a lovely green smoothie with yoghurt and a selection of fruits and seeds.

We said our goodbyes and we were blown away with the feedback from this amazing weekend with equally amazing people.

 

The weekend flowed seamlessly and without fault which I think is pretty good going for our first event, even if I do say so myself and I have my team Jennie and Cheryl to thank for all their hard work to make such an amazing event for our guys.
